SideSlide: Desktop Extension

By Josh | November 9, 2007

SideSlide is a nice Desktop Extension that I just found out about.  It is very configurable compared to other docks and sidebars available for Windows.  I like the sidebar that comes with Vista and Google Desktop, but they seem to take up too many resources sometimes.  SideSlide seems to be a lot quicker.  I also like all of the options that it comes with.  You can move the icons and containers around anywhere and lock them in place.  You can make shortcuts to files, directories, and URLs.  You can also add RSS feeds for blogs, weather, etc.  Containers can group multiple shortcuts so you can launch multiple programs at one time.  You can also choose whether to dock it at the top, left side, or right side of the screen.  It is a free download for Windows 2000/XP/Vista.
