Recommended Software: Free Music Zilla

By Josh | December 12, 2007

If you listen to a lot of music on the web, then there may come a time when you want to download a song or two. Sometimes you can do it with Firebug, which I have written about before, but other times Firebug won’t work.

Free Music Zilla is a free download that will monitor your browser for music that you are listening to. If you like to listen to music on websites such as Pandora or Imeem then it detect the music file that is being played and will allow you to download the file.

It seems to crash Firefox for me on Vista when I try to open it while Firefox is open, but if I right click on it and click “Run as Administrator” then it works. Also, if you download tracks from imeem.com then you will get a FLV file. In order to convert this to an audio file I recommend using SUPER, which I wrote about in my previous post.

Free Music Zilla is a free download, and works with IE, Firefox, Opera, and other popular browsers.
