Uncompress Files on the Internet
By Josh | February 2, 2008
Sometimes I find a compressed file that contains something that I want to get, but I don’t want to download the whole file. It would be nice to just download the one file that I need that is located within the compressed file. Wobzip does this for you. What you need to do is click on the URL link at the top of the page, and then type in the url of the file that you would like to uncompress. It then goes through the process of scanning the file for viruses, and then gives you the links to the separate files. To download one of the separate files, you just click on the one that you want.
Wobzip also includes support for uploading a file to uncompress. It will then uncompress it and give you the separate files. I’m not quite sure why you’d want to upload a file to uncompress seeing as how it is very easy to uncompress a file on your own computer, but I guess it could be of use to somebody.

As of the time of writing this post, they are in the Development and Testing stage. The formats that it supports right now are 7z, ZIP, GZIP, TAR, BZIP2, RAR, CAB, ARJ, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB, LZH, SPLIT, CHM, ISO. Also, the maximum file size allowed is 100 Mb.
