Expand Your Clipboard with ControlC
By Josh | February 5, 2008
Losing something that you had copied to your clipboard can be frustrating. Many times I’ll copy something and forget to paste it, then I end up copying something over top of it. ControlC solves this problem by running a small program in your taskbar that will monitor what you copy to your clipboard. It will then save it to your profile on ControlC’s website.
All of what you copy to ControlC will be encrypted, but if you want to share it with other people, then you can disable that option. If you decide not to upgrade to the premium service, then you will only be able to access 5 days worth of private data. If you want to be able to access your data any longer than that, then you will need to make your data public and unencrypted. I’m not sure if I want to unencrypt my data since sometimes I’ll copy some passwords or something that I don’t want others to see. I think 5 days worth of private data being stored is enough for me.

Also, copying something other than text, like images, won’t actually store it online. You can however copy the URL for the image and it will then be visible from your account. The same applies to videos.
ControlC is currently under private beta, so you have to get invited by somebody in order to get in. I have 5 invites that I can send out if anybody wants one. So leave your email address in the comments if you want me to send you an invite.
