Download any file from any site with File2HD

Downloading media from sites like Youtube and Imeem can be a little annoying when you are trying to find the correct tool. There seem to be a lot of tools out there, but only some of them actually work while the others are usually outdated. Also, there is of course a lot of music that floats around on MySpace, and I know some people would like to download it.
I’ve tried all kinds of tools, including Firebug for Firefox, although this tool seems to not work anymore, and Free Music Zilla, which will only allow you to download 10 songs a day if you have the free version. File2HD is great for going to a site like Imeem and downloading music. I have tried it out on a few songs and it works most of the time. It does seem to download only 30 second clips every now and then. I’m really not sure how to get around this, but I’ve been trying to let the song to buffer all the way before having File2HD grab the song.
One of the nice things about File2HD is that it names the files that you grab from Imeem by the name of its page. It doesn’t give it some random number like a lot of these other programs. Also, if you don’t want the files to stay in FLV, then you could download their free FLV2MP3 tool to convert them to MP3. I usually just play the songs in VLC as an FLV. The only reason I’d need to convert them is if I’m going to put them in my MP3 player.
File2HD is definitely a nice tool to add to my collection. It works with other sites besides Imeem too. Let’s hope that the creator keeps it up, and continues to update it. Got any more tools like this?
