Speed up Windows startup with Startup Delayer
By Josh | April 14, 2008
Windows can take a while to startup if you have multiple programs set to run at startup. Of course you could run msconfig to edit which programs are allowed to run at startup, but instead of doing that you could set a timer for when the programs run at startup with Startup Delayer. I usually throw out the programs that I don’t need at startup through msconfig, but there are a few that I have set to run.

Setting a timer for your startup programs is easily done with Startup Delayer. It automatically detects which programs you have set to run, and allows you to drag them to a timeline where you can specify the time interval between the certain programs. There is even an option to evenly distribute the programs over a set time interval. Say you want them all to start within 3 minutes of startup, you could set a time interval of 180 seconds and it would evenly distribute them among that time. There is also the option to add programs to the startup.
Startup Delayer is a simple program that does it’s one function well. It works on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista.
