Keep your Desktop Clean with Desktop Teleporter

By Josh | May 22, 2008

I always keep my desktop completely clean of icons.  I don’t use the icons on my desktop anyways, so why have them on there?  However, if you like to have icons on your desktop, but you still like to keep it clean, then you might want to take a look at Desktop Teleporter.

Desktop Teleporter does a simple task of taking new files and folders on the desktop and moving them to a different folder.  The point of this is to keep your desktop clean while still having your files and folders safely stored somewhere else.  This would be great if you have a select few icons that you want to keep, but you don’t want knewly installed icons popping up.  Also, if you tend to download files to your desktop, then the files will be moved to the new folder.

As you can see from the options window, you have the option to choose whether you want to exclude certain file types and file names.  You could also add multiple target folders where the files and folders will be sent to.  I’m seriously thinking about letting a few icons appear on my desktop now since this software will seem to take care of the rest.
