Joost for the Web Released
By Josh | September 18, 2008
Joost just came out with their new version of Joost for the web. They are moving from the desktop version to a web based version. I think this is a great move since it won’t require a download to view their videos. Also, once the plugin is no longer required, it will be viewable on all operating systems. Currently, you need to download a plugin which is only available on Windows and Mac. So Linux isn’t supported for now, but I do believe they will be releasing a new version in the next month or so that won’t require the plugin.
I haven’t used Joost in a while, and now that I’m trying to force myself to change to Ubuntu, I really can’t use Joost anyways. I may end up using it once it comes out without the plugin. I just need to watch out what I download and view on the internet since I’m on a monthly limit of bandwidth at my college. Joost for the web looks promising though.
