Featured Firefox Addon: Inquisitor

By Josh | October 23, 2008

I’m a big fan of search suggestions while I’m typing in my search words.  That’s why I love using the search box in Firefox so that I can see the popular searches that relate to mine.  Inquisitor, an addon for Firefox, adds more features to this search box.

The default search engine that it uses is Yahoo, but this can be changed through the options interface to Google. You can also change the amount of results that it gives you, and whether or not you want to have the options to search other websites like Flickr and Wikipedia.

Another feature I like is the auto complete; while typing something, it will automatically complete your phrase or word if it can guess what you are typing. However, something that they need to improve is that the options window doesn’t retain your current settings. So if you make changes to the options and close and reopen the options window, then it will be reset to the default settings. Other than that, it’s a great addition to your Firefox search box.
