Sorting through Monday’s Junk

By Josh | November 11, 2008

Here’s more software, howto’s, websites, etc. that I found interesting in my RSS reader.  These aren’t actually junk.  I’m just sorting through all of the junk and giving you what I find.  I haven’t tried everything on this list, so let me know what you think in the comments.

  1. Transform Vista Taskbar into Windows 7 Taskbar – This is an interesting howto article which shows you how to get the look of the Windows 7 taskbar in Vista.
  2. VideoCrawler – A nice looking site made by AT&T that searches many video websites at one time.  This makes it easy to find what you are looking for without going to each individual site. [Via]
  3. ShaPlus – A bandwidth monitor for Windows.  I was looking for something like this a long time ago since my college limits our bandwidth usage.  Now that I switch between Windows, Linux, and Mac it really isn’t practical to use this app.  Might be useful for those of you who only use Windows. 4. 11 Great Free Portable Apps for Blogging on the Go – A nice list of some software for bloggers who may find themselves traveling often.
  5. 7 Reasons Diigo Tastes better than Delicious – An interesting article on switching from Delicious to Diigo.  It might just make me want to try out Diigo again.
  6. USB Lost and Found – A nice tool to add to your USB drive.  If you lose your USB drive, it will prompt whoever finds it and plugs it in who to contact.  It also locks the USB drive so they can’t modify anything on it. [Via]
