Feedly For Google Chrome Released

Finally!  I’ve been using Feedly for a very long time, and it’s always been only available on Firefox.  It’s really the only reason I had to stay with Firefox since that was the only extension I really ever used.  Feedly was just released today for Google Chrome.  You can find instructions for installing it here.

If you don’t know what Feedly is, it is an awesome way to read your RSS feeds from Google Reader.  I have a lot of feeds that I subscribe to, and way too little time to read them.  I personally use Feedly to read the “Digest” of all of my feeds.  The Digest feature ranks posts based on popularity among many different factors, and allows me to get a quick glimpse of the most popular things going on in the past few days from my subscriptions.

You can also view all of your feed items just as if you were reading them from Google Reader, and you can view each separate category as well.  Feedly also adds handy buttons and shortcuts for posting things quickly to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, which I use all the time to post to Twitter.

Feedly has become extremely popular ever since I posted about it back in January and March.  There are many more features packed into Feedly, but I’d definitely say go check it out for yourself since it’s a free extension.  I just can’t wait until the iPhone app comes out, which they have been working on for a long time.
