Hitchhiker

Just for fun … this female pondhawk landed on my flipflop as I was walking in the yard this summer. Pondhawks will often follow me around like cattle egrets do – hoping I’ll stir up a bug they can pounce on. These small dragonflies are fierce predators.

I’ve still got hundreds of shots queued up in the archives and a new season is about to begin!
